Margo’s design philosophy is focused on pushing the boundaries of weaving to create contemporary stylish fabrics for a range of interior textile applications. Known for her graphic, geometric, woven patterns, Margo’s design philosophy is focused on the careful interpretation of her hand-woven designs to create exceptional quality textile products with a design-led feel.
We asked Margo a few questions to give you an insight into the creative process behind her beautiful woven textiles and our collaboration for The London Collection.
Over the past few years, I have been working in a more free way on my handloom creating individual woven artworks which I show and sell through galleries. The inspiration for the Assembly fabric comes directly from these abstract colour studies and embodies my recent focus which celebrates art into industry and the symbiosis between art and design in my practice.
My true passion lies with the development work which happens on the loom where I allow myself to explore colour, composition and mark without the boundaries required when designing for industry. I get equally excited when these ideas inform the design and allow me to produce industrially woven that has a depth and authenticity which derives from the exploration time allowed creating artworks.

At the moment my favourite piece is the new Assembly Sofa, I'm so pleased with the high quality results. I've also recently launched 2 lambswool throws 'Kozo' and 'Sakuru', they combine high quality supersoft lambswool with complex complimentary weave structures.

I also really loved the collection of artworks I made for my first solo show last year at the Rochester Public Art Gallery. This work informed the Assembly fabric.
